Gravestone Photographs Resource: send a message to someone who requested a photo

Send a message to the person who requested a photo of the grave monument of William Torr Allsop with the following comment:

The parents of Robert Allsop mentioned on this gravestone are John and Esther Allsop. Esther (nee TORR) is John's second wife and is living with John and his first wife, Sarah in 1841 as a Female Servant. John and Sarah are my husband's 3x gt grandparents. After Sarah's death, John fathered a child, Mary, with Esther and then married her in 1856 when she was pregnant with Robert! He was about 72 years of age at the time!! John and Sarah had a son, also John,(my husbands 2x gt grandfather) in 1805. John Jnr added the surname ROE to his name and became John Allsop Roe and I have never found out why!He is on the 1841 census with first wife Elizabeth as ROE, but married Elizabeth as Allsop in 1828. John married Hannah Harrison after Elizabeth died in 1842 but gave all his male children Allsop as a middle name.We have visited this graveyard in my early days of research but were disappointed with the state of the sandstone graves. From a transcription of the M.I.s of the graveyard no's 360-363 are all this Allsop family.I belong to the Wharfedale Family History Group and know how valuable this work is with gravestones!Kind regardsLynda Balmforth
